Wedding Music in Tipperary | Ceremony & Reception Venues
Share
Over the years I've had the pleasure of providing ceremony and drinks reception music in some truly beautiful locations throughout Tipperary. From elegant country houses and historic abbeys to lakeside venues and intimate ceremony spaces, Tipperary offers an incredible variety of wedding settings. Whether you're planning a church ceremony, a civil ceremony, or a full venue-based celebration, there are wonderful options to suit every style.
Ashley Park House
Ashley Park House holds a special place in my heart, as it is where I celebrated my own wedding in 2025. Alongside performing there regularly for couples over the years, experiencing the venue as a bride myself gave me a unique perspective on what makes it so special.
The estate is surrounded by nature and enjoys beautiful views across Lough Ourna. For civil ceremonies, the Boathouse is one of the most picturesque ceremony spaces in Ireland. The timber interior, lakeside setting, and natural light create an atmosphere that feels exclusive yet relaxed.
For ceremony music, I perform in the Boathouse itself, with the harp or piano positioned on the wooden floor overlooking the lake (the natural floor carries a great acoustic!). The setting lends itself beautifully to live music, whether couples choose harp, piano, and/or vocals.
For drinks receptions, music can take place on the veranda overlooking the lawn or inside the main house, depending on the season and weather. Both spaces work beautifully for live music and create a lovely continuation from the ceremony. I will often make a quick and seamless move between the indoor and outdoor spaces if weather changes or guests gather mostly in one space or the other.
Many couples also choose a church ceremony before returning to Ashley Park House for their celebrations. One church I frequently work in is Holy Rosary Church in Nenagh, which has a wonderful acoustic, a dedicated area for musicians, and a long aisle that allows entrance music to build beautifully.
Ashley Park House remains one of my favourite venues to visit, both professionally and personally, and I’m honoured to be on their suppliers list for music, alongside of some of the best wedding suppliers in the country.

Cloughjordan House
Cloughjordan House offers something quite different to your typical wedding venue. The venue has a relaxed, contemporary feel of a home while still retaining plenty of character. Ceremonies often take place in the beautifully restored barn space, which creates an intimate atmosphere for live music.
For drinks receptions, guests typically spill out into the gardens and outdoor spaces beneath the stretch tent. This is one venue where acoustic music works particularly well, and the Irish harp feels especially at home in the surroundings. Because amplification is generally not used outdoors in this venue, the natural sound of the harp complements the venue perfectly while guests mingle outdoors.
Kilshane House & Bansha
Bansha Kilshane House is one of Tipperary's most elegant wedding venues. I often provide music in the spectacular Orangery, a stunning glass conservatory that creates a bright and atmospheric setting for both ceremonies and drinks receptions.
The combination of natural light, tiled flooring, and a mature indoor garden makes it a wonderful venue for live music. Many couples pair Kilshane House with a church ceremony in nearby Bansha (Church of the Annunciation), creating a compact flow between the church and the venue.

Cashel Palace Hotel
Cashel Palace offers a very refined style of celebration. One ceremony space I've particularly enjoyed performing in is the Library room, which creates a warm and elegant atmosphere for smaller gatherings. Live music works beautifully in the room and helps create a sense of occasion without overwhelming the space.

Holycross Abbey
Holycross Abbey is one of the most historic and atmospheric ceremony locations in Ireland. The abbey has a remarkable acoustic, and live music carries beautifully throughout the extensive length of the building. Many people will know it as the church where Dolores O'Riordan was married (fun fact - Dreams by The Cranberries is my most requested exit song!). The combination of architecture, history, and acoustics creates a very special atmosphere for ceremony music.
The Lakeside Hotel & Ballina
Located on the Tipperary-Clare border, The Lakeside Hotel is another venue I regularly return to and where I’m honoured to be a recommended supplier. Couples can choose to hold their ceremony and reception within the hotel itself, or opt for one of the nearby churches before returning to the venue.
One church I particularly enjoy working in is Our Lady and St Lua's Church in Ballina. With its high ceilings and excellent acoustic, it is a wonderful setting for ceremony music. You don’t even have to cross the river to get to The Lakeside then.
The Lakeside itself offers beautiful views over the River Shannon and works equally well for ceremonies, whether indoors or outdoors.
Aherlow House Hotel
Nestled beneath the Galtee Mountains, Aherlow House Hotel offers some of the most impressive scenery in the county.
The surrounding landscape creates a beautiful backdrop for wedding celebrations, while the venue itself provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for couples and guests alike. It is another lovely example of the variety of wedding venues available throughout Tipperary. I've performed at ceremonies overlooking the mountainous vista, and settled in the bar area for the drinks reception with my harp — two very different atmospheres within the one venue.
Planning Your Wedding Music
Tipperary as a county holds a huge variety of options for couples. Every venue has its own character, acoustics, and atmosphere, and part of my role is helping couples choose music that feels right for their setting. Whether you're planning a wedding at Ashley Park House, Kilshane House, Cashel Palace, Holycross Abbey, The Lakeside Hotel, Cloughjordan House, or elsewhere in Tipperary, I'll be happy to guide you through the process and help create a ceremony that feels personal, relaxed, and uniquely yours.
