Claire holds 1st class honours Masters in Music Performance from the CIT Cork School of Music. having specialised in piano accompaniment under Dr. Gabriela Mayer. She also holds a Bachelor of Music with 1st class honours, for which she specialised in solo piano performance under Nicholas O’Halloran, vocal accompaniment, orchestration, and choral conducting.
Claire began piano lessons at seven years of age in the Limerick School of Music. In June 2012 she completed her BMus at CSM. She has studied accompaniment with Dr. Gabriela Mayer, Nicole Panizza, John O’Brien and Pat O’Keeffe.
In May 2012 Claire received a masterclass from world-renowned Australian classical pianist Victor Sangiorgio. At about the same time she was Highly Commended at the CSM Senior Rectial competition by Alan Smale, former leader of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
For her first Masters recital, Le Rossignol Chantera, she collaborated with tenor Robert Craig to perform a song recital with works by Barber, Debussy, Schoenberg and Britten. Her second recital, Le Chat Noir, staged by Ciaran Bermingham, featured vocalist Gemma Sugure, presenting an evening of drama and cabaret. Her third Masters recital, Clara, featured Romantic works with Ed Creedon (viola) and Emma Power (soprano).
Claire spent the past three years as a choral coach-accompanist for the Pfizerpfonics Choir and the St Finbarr’s Hospital Choir. Having participated in many choirs, worked with solo singers, and being a vocalist herself, Claire is a sensitive vocal coach-accompanist.
For church ceremonies and corporate events, she performs frequently as a pianist or pianist-singer. For weddings receptions and dinners, she plays light classical music, contemporary and film music, popular hits, and traditional Irish/folk music.
